MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
We'll monitor the strengthening high-pressure system off the east coast, which will act as a shielding mechanism from advancing storm systems. It will also trigger the warmest temperatures of the year for the region. Lows tonight will fall to around 50° with areas of clear sky and only patchy thin clouds. The stabilizing effects of the high will limit the amount of cloudiness Tuesday, as temperatures rise toward 80°, with low and mid 80s possible along the I-75 corridor. A low-pressure disturbance, also abnormally strong, will erode the high by the end of the week, but its slow movement will create some uncertainty when it comes to arrival and intensity of showers and storms. Nonetheless, a general increase in rain coverage is forecast for Friday through Sunday.
