MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Late-day scattered showers and storms are developing, and are likely to be impacting areas near and south of Interstate 10 in north Florida, with activity a little more widely scattered across south Georgia.  Rounds of downpours, frequent lightning, and brief but strong wind gusts are possible through mid-evening, when most of the action will begin winding down.  Overnight, clouds will further disperse as temperatures fall to near average in the mid and lower 70s.  Tuesday will feature ample sun in the morning, with building clouds by afternoon with more scattered showers and thunderstorms.  A front moving into the Chattahoochee River area will enhance coverage in interior south Georgia.  Organized severe weather isn't anticipated, but isolated cases of rough thunderstorms can't be ruled out.  Highs will reach around 90° to the mid 90s.  The front sinks more to the south by midweek, hiking the overall rain potential for the region.  The chances for rain generally decrease as the holiday weekend approaches.
