MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
A low-pressure disturbance in the northern Gulf is producing scattered, fast-moving rain spots across the north Florida Big Bend, scooting off to the northwest. There's limited opportunity for these storms to gain any serious strength, outside of a few mainly non-severe wind gusts ahead of a downpour. Tonight, the upper low will be able to generate showers and some thunder offshore, impacting coastal zones on occasion early, then moving inland to the northwest again almost any time of day Tuesday. The showers and storms may be numerous and scattered, but confined to mostly the Big Bend and the tri-state region, with less coverage in interior south Georgia. Lows will be in the low to mid 70s, and highs will range from the upper 80s coast to a few mid-90s in south-central Georgia. A nearby high-pressure system will take the place of the low later this week, reducing the rain threat a tad and boosting afternoon temperatures.
