MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

A north-latitude high pressure ridge is parked over the northern Gulf region, setting us up for another night of near- and sub-freezing temperatures.  While coastal areas may have been spared from the freeze so far, tonight may not provide the same protection.  A Freeze Warning will go into effect late tonight for the entire viewing region and last until 9:00 a.m. for the likelihood of temperatures reaching the upper 20s for a few hours.  Only a couple of patches of thin clouds overnight may temporarily slow the cooling trend.  Tuesday, abundant sunshine and light winds will allow readings to rebound through the 50s in most areas.  The high will stick around through midweek with only slight modifications in temps.  Another cold front will brush by the Southeast to sustain the cool January conditions until Thursday.  A southern disturbance will spread clouds and shower chances by the end of the work week, and conditions will be a bit milder as well.
