MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Widespread showers and rain are accompanied by a few thunderstorms, most of which have reached their peak strength. Leftover clouds and showers are likely through the evening hours, especially in south Georgia, while north Florida rain areas will continue to diminish and become lighter. Overnight will feature scattered clouds and some offshore and coastal rain pockets, with plenty of moisture keeping lows mainly in the low to mid 70s. The early-morning showers will easily transform into another batch of heavier rain and embedded storms even before midday, moving inland by afternoon. A few storms could be strong, making gusty winds a localized threat. Highs may fall short of 90° near the coast, and perhaps reach the low and mid 90s farther inland. There will be a modest drop in rain chances later in the week as temperatures crank up a bit, creating rounds of hot, humid afternoons and scattered showers and storms.
