MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

There will be limited amounts of showers and thunderstorms this evening thanks to a slight amount of drying and stable conditions centered over the region, keeping thunder actions more on the isolated side through mid-evening.  The rain activity is set to increase drastically Tuesday with the approach of a broad surge of upper-level low pressure over the eastern U.S., and a cold front plunging toward the Southeast.  Numerous to widespread showers and storms are expected in many parts of the Deep South Tuesday, but the local arrival of rain and storms is timed for mainly the afternoon and evening hours.  A few stronger storms are possible as the system comes near.  Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 70s, while highs Tuesday will range from near 90° in interior southwest Georgia to the low and mid 90s for the eastern Big Bend.  A hint of drier air returns around midweek, causing rain chances to drop once again.  There are no concerns of tropical development in the next 24 hours and beyond.
