MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The heat hasn't backed off too much, but there is a more vibrant pattern of thunderstorm development underway for the western two-thirds of the region late today. Patchy, passing heavy rain and thunder may create a quick periods of unsettled conditions with some moderate wind gusts, then as the nighttime hours progress, showers and storms will quickly fizzle away. Lingering moisture with a clearer sky will promote patchy fog overnight, as winds will be light to calm. Lows will drop into the mid 70s in most areas. Another round of scattered rain and storms will fire off by midday and beyond, with another chance for locally heavy rain, as highs climb toward the mid 90s. Only slight shifts day to day will create a varied focus in the development and intensity of showers and storms; it's challenging to highlight these small-scale changes, but the overall expectation for scattered downpours and bouts of lightning remains through the rest of this week.
