MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Rain chances will dwindle through the work week due to some drier air moving in due to Hurricane Bertha. Yes, Bertha is helping to absorb moisture from a nearby low pressure system east of Florida as it begins it track away from the Eastern Seaboard. This will help to leave drier air across the region and winds will shift mainly out of the west at first before shifting to a more southerly direction later this week. Highs across the region will be above average inlandmainly in the upper 90s. Lows tonight will be expected in the lower 70s before they too, increase to the mid 70s through the week. The drier wind out of the west will keep rain chances at bay until late this week into the weekend, when we see coverage climb back up to 50% for the weekend due to a wave of moisture coming in from the west. We are still under a summer rain deficit, so any rainfall we get will be greatly needed. Highs over the weekend are expected to be in the lower 90s with the greater chances of rain.
