MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The flash flood watch issued for the western 3/4 of the region has been extended into 8 A.M. Tuesday morning. Some areas can still receive up to another 2-4 inches in the coming day. Cloud cover will likely dominate once again Tuesday, but sunlight can break through in the afternoon, which can help temperatures rise to the mid 80s for highs. Tuesday night, conditions should begin to quiet down, beginning a more isolated/scattered storm pattern for midweek.
Overnight lows Monday night into Tuesday are forecast to stay in the lower to mid 70s with abundant cloud cover. Rain coverage will be around 40-50% overnight. Tuesday afternoon will likely feature more storminess with coverage around 60% (highest likelihood for the eastern half of our viewing area). Once again, daytime highs will range in the lower to mid 80s, depending on the amount of sunshine that breaks through the clouds. For beach and boating interests, it will be another breezy afternoon Tuesday with southwest winds at 15 knots or more. Small crafts should exercise caution.
The tropical wave responsible for the cloudy and gloomy pattern will exit to the northeast Tuesday night. Dry air from the northeast can help to clear things somewhat. This will result in a generally, quieter pattern. An approaching cold front will help steer some moisture from the Gulf to keep rain coverage possible Wednesday-Thursday (30-40%). Overnight lows are forecast to be around 70 degrees. Daytime highs will likely range in the mid to upper 80s. After Thursday, a cool down is expected back to seasonal levels with lows in the mid 60s and highs in the mid 80s.
