MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
What a difference a wind shift makes! The late-Sunday cold front, along with sustaining northeast winds from a high pressure system over the mid-Atlantic states, has helped to wipe away the excess moisture and higher humidity levels from last week, and the heat-wave system has shifted west of here, leading to temps returning to average and a higher level of comfort. The drier nature of the air will impact overnight readings by allowing lows to fall to around 70°, with light winds continuing. Some interior and rural locations may reach the upper 60s before sunrise. Winds will continue to provide a dry air mass throughout the region Tuesday, leading to ample sunshine, a few clouds, and only a slim risk for an isolated shower if Atlantic moisture is drawn into the I-75 zone. Highs will return to the low and mid 90s. Stable conditions remain in the forecast through midweek, but southeast winds come back by Thursday. Moisture returns from the Gulf by then, and scattered daytime showers and thunderstorms will be possible.
