MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Is this the final cold snap of the season? The average final frost occurs in the last 10 days of March, so tonight's plunge into the low to mid 30s is on track with local climate history. A Frost Advisory will be in effect overnight for several interior counties. Coastal zones will fall to near 40° and should be generally void of widespread frost. With ongoing dry air and the nearby high pressure, temperatures will jump back into the lower 70s for highs, supported by lots of sunshine. As the rest of the week progresses, a moisture flow will set up ahead of a series of disturbances and an upper pattern that will drive rounds of scattered showers and some thunderstorms. The timing of these waves of activity are highly in question, and may stretch off-and-on right through the Easter weekend. Temperatures will be near or above average through the extended period.
