MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
A cold front is plowing into an incredibly warm, moist, and unsettled atmosphere around us. Occasional rain later this evening and tonight may contain storms that produce gusty winds that can trigger local damage and reach severe levels. Periods of frequent lightning and heavy rain are possible through the early morning hours of Tuesday as the front continues to move into offshore waters. This will allow a much drier air mass to replace the tropical muggy one that we have, which in turn will provide more sunshine and cooler mornings to come. However, tonight, we’ll have clouds and moisture to hold temps in the low to mid 70s, and highs will still be quite warm in the low to mid 90s. Less moisture by Wednesday morning will lead to lows falling well into the 60s with a mainly clear sky, and the daytime warmth may be more manageable without the excess humidity. Rain chances will also be near zero by that time.
