MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The hit-or-miss, splash-and-dash variety of daytime showers and storms is underway through the middle of the evening in the region, produced by warm temperatures in a relatively weak atmosphere. Individual showers and thunder are moving mainly to the north and have produced locally heavy rain in limited cases. A cluster of storms overnight in the south Alabama region may create a side-effect of triggering a few more storms for Tuesday, but not likely to exceed 40% coverage of the area, and unlikely to increase strength all too much. Lots of moisture around will keep lows in the lower 70s, and highs tomorrow between 88° and 94°. A cold front sinks into the Deep South by midweek, creating a greater risk for active thunderstorms, and then settled and hot weather in general arrives to close out the week. There will be no tropical weather hassles in the area this week.
