TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- An area of low pressure sitting in the Gulf has been the cause for the rainy and gloomy Monday. As we head into the overnight hours, this low pressure will continue to push northeastward towards the Atlantic Ocean. As it passes, rain chances will begin to lower, mainly after the midnight hour. In addition, there is another weak cold front that will try to pass us early Tuesday morning. This will bring a small chance of shower activity in the morning hours. After this front passes, we'll see a slow clearing of the cloudy skies throughout the day.
Tonight, showers will likely continue through the midnight hour. After midnight, rain chances will drop, but remain in the forecast as the previously mentioned cold front is set to pass over. Overnight lows tonight will be slow to drop, only cooling to the mid 40s for most of the region. Winds will be fairly light, about 5-10 mph from the north to northeast.
Tuesday starts with a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 9 am, with overcast skies. Moving into the afternoon, highs will be unseasonably cool and only heat near the lower to mid 60s. Winds may also be a bit breezy in the afternoon to evening hours, about 5-15 mph. Skies will be slow to clear for the day, but should see partly cloudy skies by Tuesday evening.
