TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- High pressure will remain in place across the region today helping to maintain above average temperatures and below average rain coverage. Highs today will reach the upper 90s with heat indices in the 105-108 range with rain coverage at 20% for inland areas and 30% for coastal counties. Saturday will be slightly warmer with highs still in the upper 90s and small rain coverage in the afternoon. By Sunday the area of high pressure will begin to weaken increasing the coverage of rain to 30%. Temperatures will remain hot and above average in the upper 90s. By next work week an unsettled pattern will begin with rain coverage ranging from 40%-50% and hot conditions in the mid and upper 90s with heat indices well above 100.
