Storm Team Friday morning forecast (03/08/2013)

Posted

We’ve got pockets of smoke and fog to get through this morning. Visibilities have been knocked way down from Thomasville Road to South Georgia to the Suwannee River; slow it up! This afternoon as temperatures warm, smoke will rise away from street level and become a bit of haze. You’ll still be able to smell it a bit with highs climbing to near 70°. The source of the smoke is several prescribed burns going across the area. High pressure will hold control through the weekend; that means sunny and warm conditions for you. Temperatures Saturday and Sunday will be in the low and middle 70s. Lows will be cool but not overly cold in the low 40s. Our next rain maker comes with a quick moving cold front Monday night and Tuesday morning. Since it’ll be in an out fast, there won’t be enough rain to cause an additional flood concern. Current models don’t scream severe weather either but it’ll have to be watched close at it evolves west of us this weekend. After the rain is done we’ll resume pleasant weather Wednesday with highs near 70° and lows in the 40s.

Be safe and have a great weekend!
