MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Cold air is seeping into the region this morning, but it will not last long as high pressure quickly pushes east of our region, allowing easterly winds to quickly filter in. These winds will warm us up in time for the weekend. By SUuday, a new frontal system will approach, bringing an extended threat of showers and storms by then.
For Friday afternoon, the cool influence of the high pressure system will still be felt, with highs in the mid 60s. Lows tonight, into Saturday morning, will only fall to the lower 50s as cloud cover returns, acting like a blanket and keeping the warm air near the surface.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons will feature more cloud development with highs in the upper 70s (some spots at 80 degrees), along with showers and storms becoming possible Sunday afternoon (40% coverage).
The approaching front will stall, keeping the rain coverage with us through Tuesday.
