TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Rain is on its way heading into the holiday weekend. We're not talking about showers all weekend long, but a few pop-up showers are possible today especially towards the Tri-State region. This indicates the warm front is lifting from the Gulf adding increased moisture and warmth. Temps will get into the upper 60s this afternoon. Overnight, we stay muggy with lows only dipping to the upper 50s. Saturday will be unseasonably warm with highs in the mid to upper 70s. It'll be a little uncomfortable as we're talking about a lot of moisture coming in off the Gulf of Mexico. A few more isolated showers are possible on Saturday, though the bulk of the rainfall and storminess holds off til Sunday. Widespread storms are likely as the main cold front pushes through. A few embedded storms could be on the strong side with high wind gusts the main threat. Temps are still above average in the low 70s on Sunday. Make sure you keep the umbrella on you heading to church. Next week looks much cooler with the skies clearing and high pressure settling in. Monday through Tuesday, highs will be in the low to mid 60s. Then another dry cold front pushes through bringing in a reinforcing chill that'll bump highs into the upper 50s with lows getting down near freezing by Thursday morning.
