TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Expect an active weather day to end your work week. Friday starts off muggy in the low 70s with several clouds sticking around ahead of a frontal system that's digging into the Gulf coast. That front quickly advances into the Tri-state around lunchtime, mid-afternoon near the capital city and Thomasville, and around dinnertime it'll advance towards the I-75 corridor before exiting the area around sunset. We could see some leftover moisture in the way of some showers beyond these specific times, but the actual front will bring a broken line of storminess with a few isolated strong to severe cells possible. The greatest threat today besides the heavy downpours is the possibility of seeing some high wind gusts. The important thing to note here is that even though severe storms are possible, this will not be an organized system that will bring numerous severe storms with lots of damage potential. We're only talking a few far and few between stronger cells in this front. Temps will be muggy ahead of this system getting into the mid to upper 80s by the early afternoon. On the back end of this system, it'll be windy with gusts exceeding 30 mph overnight and into your Saturday. Lows bottom out in the mid 60s. Skies will gradually clear and by Saturday afternoon, it'll be mostly sunny. Temps will be significantly cooler as well as winds come out of the northwest ushering in a late fall air mass. Expect highs on Saturday to only climb into the upper 70s. It'll be quite breezy for the Seminoles and Rattlers football games, but that will be the only hindrance to the game. Saturday night, dig out the coats from the closet, because temps will plummet into the upper 40s for lows and winds will slack off. Temps slowly moderate heading into next week, but overall expect lows to be a little below average while highs remain seasonable climbing back into the mid 80s by midweek.
