Storm Team Friday Morning Forecast (2/21/14)

Posted

We are tracking a line of storms that are beginning to enter our region this morning. The warm air that has been giving us a taste of spring will be interacting with the cooler air behind this front causing instability. This instability has the potential to cause heavy downpours - anywhere from ¾ to 1 inch of rain, lightning and wind gusts up to 30+mph. These storms should be clearing out of our area by early afternoon. Our high today will actually occur this morning, since the warmer air is ahead of the front. Look for temperatures to fall 10-15 degrees as we head into the afternoon hours. As winds begin to filter in from the north, lows tonight will drop to the mid 40’s.

Saturday will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs reaching the lower 70’s, and our lows dipping down into the lower 50’s. Sunday our rain chances will increase once more with a 50% chance of seeing some showers. Kicking off the work week our temperatures will remain above average, until Wednesday when showers return with mostly cloudy skies and highs only reaching the upper 60’s.

If you have any photos from the storms today, make sure you share them with us!

Stay safe, and have a great weekend!
