MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forming in classic summertime fashion, with some assistance from extra moisture and a weak atmosphere allowing some of the storms to drop heavy rain and produce frequent lightning.  Isolated storms may be briefly strong through mid-evening before diminishing later in the night.  Lows will reach the low and mid 70s by dawn Saturday.  We will repeat the performance of morning sun, additional clouds by midday, and pockets of rain and storms by afternoon, with highs generally between 88° at the coast to 94° well inland.  A patch of high pressure and slightly drier air will lower rain chances early next week, but a strong cold front will plunge into the Deep South by Tuesday to renew the widespread shower and storm chances by that time.  No tropical developments are expected over the weekend.
