MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
High pressure will have a warming effect on the region this weekend, similar to what's been felt today. We will also experience a limited number of showers and storms as the high's forces suppress the thunderstorm cycle. However, with the intense heating and extra destabilization in the atmosphere, even those few storms could grow in the late-day time frame and become locally strong or briefly severe. Otherwise, the sky will be partly cloudy in the afternoon and highs will range from the low 90s at the beaches to near 100° for some interior locations. Feels-like temps may rise toward 105° during the peak heating hours. Lows this weekend will be mainly in the low to mid 70s. The high will move to the west through early next week, though above-average temperatures are likely to remain for a couple of days before broader rain opportunities return by the middle of the week.
