Storm Team Friday evening forecast (01/01/2016)

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

The New Year's cold front made enough progress southward to allow temperatures locally to stay on the noticeably colder side.  Without much sunshine, readings have been held steady in the 50s all day and will gradually fall into the 40s overnight.  Overcast conditions are expected with a few passing light sprinkles possible through sunrise.  As the upper flow shifts slightly to the south, the veil of cloudiness will partially break, leading to a little more sun in the afternoon.  It won't be enough to bring back the above-average temps, so the weekend will take on a cool feel with highs mainly in the 50s.  Sunday will remain on the colder side, as the region gets split between a drier interior and a wetter coast and Suwannee Valley as an upper disturbance streaks across the northern Gulf.
