MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

The region is in a bit of a squeeze play between an onshore wind flow and a modest cold front in the Deep South.  There’s enough warmth and moisture, plus the unsettledness provided by the front, to force scattered, mainly light, showers across the area.  These aren’t dropping much in the way of hefty rainfall, and most should dissipate in the early nighttime hours.  The front will renew a drier trend for the area this weekend, but temperatures won’t be cooler.  In fact, there’s a chance some inland areas could crack 90° in the afternoon heat, while most everyone else away from the beach will feel mid and upper 80s Saturday and Sunday.  Lows will dip to around 60° with a mostly clear sky.  Next week, a broad low-pressure system in the Midwest will slowly approach, bring a chance for midweek rain and some thunderstorms into the area.  Until then, it will remain partly cloudy and warm.
