Storm Team Friday evening forecast (09/11/2015)

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

While cloudiness prevails in western regions late today, excessive shower and storm action trails farther to the west in the central Gulf region.  The evening will feature breaks of clearer sky near I-75, but a few late-forming showers and storms may focus on the Apalachicola and Flint river systems in the evening, generally moving east-northeast and capable of producing quick downpours and isolated cases of lightning.  The main source of more widely impacting rain and storms will arrive early Saturday morning, riding along coastal zones initially, but also causing thick overcast and developing rain and storms over land as a cold front approaches.  Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 70s, and highs tomorrow will be confined to the upper 70s and lower 80s as periods of rain cover 80% or more of the region.  The cold front will trigger the first true cool snap of the season, providing increasing sunshine Sunday, mild highs in the low to mid 80s, and morning lows falling into the 50s for some inland locations by Monday morning.
