High pressure continues to hold on to the Gulf region, leaving us with abundant sunshine and considerable heat. Temps will be slow to fall this evening, with 80s possibly lingering into the late-night period. Overnight lows will reach the mid and upper 60s. Saturday will still have a high amount of sun, but a few more clouds are forecast to form in the daytime heating. Heat will build highs back into the low and middle 90s, but Sunday will start to feature scattered daytime showers and storms as the high-pressure system weakens a bit. A couple of isolated storms could be briefly strong Sunday and perhaps on Memorial Day, but rain coverage isn’t anticipated to be widespread.
