MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Upper-level high pressure is taking hold near the area, supporting increasingly hot afternoon temperatures and leading to our first string of 90°+ days of the year this weekend.  The intense heat will be partly offset by brisk southerly winds, which will have a slight cooling effect for coastal and western areas.  Rain chances are near-zero until Monday, when a stronger cold front approaches with some rain and thunder, and the capability to break the heat spell.   Lows tonight will fall to around 70° with areas of low clouds and fog.  Breaks of sun will increase as temps climb through the 80s and peak in the lower 90s in most areas away from the shore.  Sunday will be nearly as warm with a slim chance for a stray late-day shower.
