MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The nearby cold front will help to produce a few more scattered showers and thunderstorms this evening, leaving areas of clouds and still a high amount of moisture for the overnight hours. Only modest drying is forecast for the weekend, especially in south Georgia, where rain chances will be the lowest. As the front lingers near the Big Bend coast, it can still force additional showers and storms to develop in the afternoon. Otherwise, a sun-and-cloud mix is expected, and westerly winds will support an increase in daytime temperatures. Lows tonight will be in the mid 70s in most areas, and highs Saturday will range from near 90° at the coast to middle 90s inland. Sunday could possibly be even hotter, with upper 90s over the interior, with somewhat limited rain chances. A second front approaches early next work week with another round of rain likely. There are no major worries for the weekend in the tropical Atlantic basin.
