Posted

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Evening thunderstorms have formed close to the Big Bend coast, where an advancing cold front is clashing with the daytime seabreeze boundary can causing scattered pockets of heavy rain and some active lightning.  Nighttime thunderstorm potential will remain focused south of Interstate 10, with patchy downpours possible through about 9:00.  An isolated case of strong storm gusts or small to moderate hail is possible in the more intense storms, but these features won't become a widespread issue.  Clearing will occur overnight, supporting fuller amounts of sun for the weekend afternoons.  Lows tonight will reach near 60° in the interior to the mid 60s in the southeast sections.  Highs will still be warm, between 85° and 90°, but moisture levels will be lower and it won't feel as muggy.  An early Sunday cold front will reinforce the dry trend for Sunday and parts of Monday.
