FRANKLIN COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - Early Friday morning, a squall line pushed through the Forgotten Coast causing high wind damage.
55 mph wind gusts were reported at the Apalachicola Airport. In nearby Thirteen Mile, high winds blew down trees blocking County Road 58 near the Gulf county border. A few minutes later, trees were reported down in Buckhorn, blocking the road at Highway 65 and Bloody Bluff Road.
Other notable reports include a 46 mph wind gust on St. George Island and a 44 mph wind gust at the FSU Coastal Marine Lab.
In Crawfordville, trees fell down on the Crawfordville Highway in Wakulla County.
Later in the morning a 45 mph wind gust along Keaton Beach in Taylor County. Trees blew over in Hampton Springs at Courtney Grade and Puckett Roads.
Besides that, this system provided widespread rain from 1" to 1.5".
No more severe weather is expected today.
