Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Ten is now Tropical Storm Ida. The most recent numbers have the storm at 40 mph. The storm is expected to intensify, but is already encountering wind shear that is slowing the intensification process. The forecast cone does not have Ida becoming a hurricane. The storm will likely make a loop in the open Atlantic next week. Ida, though, is no threat to the U.S.
