There are currently two areas of low pressure that the National Hurricane Center is watching for potential development...Invest 94L and Invest 95L.
Invest 94L is located in the SW part of the Gulf of Mexico and is associated with widespread cloudiness and disorganized thunderstorms. Upper level winds are not very favorable for any future development, therefore this system has been give only about a 10% chance for future development over the next 48 hours. Regardless of future development or not, as this system moves north it will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to Texas and Louisiana.
Invest 95L is an intense tropical wave out in the E. Atlantic Ocean...about 850 miles SW of the Cape Verde islands. The shower and thunderstorm activity here is becoming a little bit more organized. Environmental conditions are also becoming more conducive for development over the next few days. It has been given a 30% chance for development over the next 48 hours. The system is currently moving west at 20-25 mph.
