An area of low pressure about 500 miles southwest of the Azores is producing a lot of showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are forecast to be somewhat favorable for development in the next five days as it moves slowly to the northeast. Because of this, there is a 40 percent chance of formation in the next five days.
