TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Although the tropics have been relatively quiet lately, there is an area of disturbed weather in the Atlantic Basin.

This disturbance is about 700 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Strong upper level winds are expected to continue for the next few days, hindering development. By midweek, however, conditions will be more favorable for tropical formation near Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, and the southern Bahamas.
