MIDWAY, FL. (WTXL) -- Hurricane Nicole is still churning in the open Atlantic, but is transitioning to a post-tropical cyclone. The storm appears to have developed a frontal cloud band, similar to the low pressure systems that bring us cold fronts. However, Hurricane Nicole still has an area of warmer air near the center of the storm, just like tropical systems. Winds still strong, sustained at 85 mph with an east-northeast movement of 12 mph.
