MIDWAY, FL. (WTXL) -- We still have two tropical systems, but they are expected to fizzle out by the middle of our next work week.
Hurricane Matthew has weakened quite a bit since yesterday morning. It is now a weak category 1 storm with winds of 75 mph. This hurricane has begun its U-turn into the open Atlantic with a movement of 13 mph to the east-northeast. Over the next few days, Matthew will continue to weaken as it encounters more winds shear and drier air.
Tropical Storm Nicole is still churning in the open Atlantic with winds of 50 mph. This storm will track south for another day before moving towards Bermuda. Right now, it is moving south-southwest at 6 mph.
