Saturday evening Tropics check (10/18/2014)

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Hurricane Gonzalo is a category 1 hurricane as it continues to traverse across cooler waters and higher wind shear due to a nearby cold front. The storm is expected to turn post-tropical on Sunday but still be a strong system with heavy winds at times. Shipping interests will be under that threat as the storm is not expected to make anymore landfalls, though the Canadian maritimes may get some tropical storm force winds. No other development is expected to develop in the Atlantic within the next 48 hours.
