TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- For the most part, the tropics are rather quiet, however, the remnants of Tropical Storm Beatriz have moved into the Western Gulf of Mexico, over the Bay of Campeche, and embedded in a plume of moisture. Due to the stronger winds in the upper levels, and moderately warm water temperatures, Beatriz is not expected to redevelop into a larger storm.
The previously mentioned plume of moisture stretches from the Western Gulf of Mexico into the western portion of the Atlantic Ocean, and is contributing to our cloudier skies and rain chances for the rest of the weekend.
As we head into the next work week, what's left of this tropical storm will push closer to the Gulf Coast of Florida. This, along with the plume of moisture will give us cloudier skies for the first half of the work week, as well as a larger chance of rain.
Other than that, there are no tropical threats or points of interest in the Atlantic for the next two to five days.
