TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- There is only one area of interest in the tropics, and it's near Cuba.
Tropical Storm Philippe is about 20 miles southwest of Havana, Cuba, and about 120 miles south southwest of Key West Florida. Winds are currently sustained at about 40 mph and is moving north at 30 mph. This storm is expected to remain a tropical storm through Monday afternoon.
Philippe is expected to only impact portions of south and central Florida with breezy winds and heavy rain heading into Sunday morning. This storm is not going to have a local impact on the area, and is expected to remain off the United States east coast.
