MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Two areas of disturbed weather are being monitored in the Atlantic Ocean. One in the Caribbean east of Hispaniola, while the other area is in the western Gulf of Mexico.
The Caribbean disturbance has a 50% chance of developing within the next 5 days as it tracks to the northwest toward the Bahamas.
The disturbance in the Gulf has a 20% chance of developing within the next 5 days but it will likely not develop, due to interaction with a frontal system just northwest of the Big Bend and South Georgia.
