TALLAHASSE, Fla. (WTXL)--
Unfortunately the weather is not cooperating for the Daytona 500 this afternoon.
Showers and thunderstorms have been effecting the area throughout the day. Around 3:00 pm there was a cell that was capable of producing a tornado around the racetrack. Fans were told to seek shelter from the storms.
Inclement weather is supposed to continue throughout the rest of the afternoon. Some officials say the race might have to be postponed until Monday.
Hopefully the weather isn't bringing down the spirits of Nascar fans!
