Rain will be the biggest threat as tropical storm Andrea becomes closer to making landfall along the coast of the Florida Big Bend. The highest wind gusts will remain offshore and near the coast, but we can still expect persistent rainfall rates of 1-2" per hour extending from the Florida peninsula to southern Georgia.
As of the late-morning hours, the heaviest rain remains offshore but there is a heavy rainband moving through the coastal bend and interior North Florida counties, including the Tallahassee area. As the system continues to accelerate on a northeasterly track you can expect more heavy rainbands to impact the local area as the afternoon continues.
A tornado watch will be in effect for Columbia county in north central FL until 10 pm.
