Coverage of showers and storms is much lower this evening compared to early this morning, but the ever-present stationary front off the Big Bend coast is providing the opportunity for pockets of showers and isolated thunder developing offshore and near the shore, moving mainly toward the eastern side of the Big Bend region. Severe weather is unlikely, but spotty heavy rain may occur. Thursday, a stronger cold front will swing through from the northwest; scattered showers will still be possible, but the front will give us much drier air and a true feel of autumn for the weekend. Tonight, however, will feature areas of clouds and passing showers with overnight lows in the lower 70s. Tomorrow’s highs may reach 90° with additional sunshine, then reading fall during the afternoons into the mid and lower 80s with a cooler northeast flow. Morning temps may fall deep into the 60s over the weekend.
