Storm Team Wednesday evening forecast (02/06/2013)

Posted

Uneventful weather conditions are in store for this evening … cloud cover will be persistent with a good deal of moisture around, but no big rain opportunities this evening.  We’re in a lull between yesterday’s low-pressure system and tomorrow’s, which may be a little stronger than the one before.  Through tomorrow morning, southeast and south winds will increase in speed, carrying additional moisture and warmth into the region.  The Thursday low-pressure disturbance will move east-northeasterly into the Deep South.  Showers will develop and push across the area.  A few more thunderstorms are likely with the system by afternoon, with a slight chance for a couple of stronger storms.  The most risk will be situated north of the region, but any stronger storm Thursday may produce gusty winds or an isolated tornado.  Lows tonight will fall into the mid and upper 50s, with highs tomorrow reaching the middle 70s.  Slight drying will occur later Friday with a cold front which will trigger a clearing and slight cooling trend for the weekend.
