The lull in the active rain and storm pattern is basically over. Daytime heating, ample moisture, and an approaching low-pressure disturbance are all helping scattered pockets of showers, downpours, and thunderstorms to thrive well into the evening hours. These areas of activity are likely to persist late into the night and through portions of early Thursday, though the greatest chances for heavy rain and a few stronger storms will be confined to this evening. Overnight lows will drop into the mid to lower 70s. If clouds keep the warming process slow, highs may struggle to reach 90°. Slight drying will follow this rain event, leading to lower rain potential to conclude this week.
