Storm Team Wednesday evening forecast (12/18/2013)

Posted

The weather pattern remains mainly unchanged with the cold front that passed through the area this morning.  The main difference will be a slight cool-down for the overnight lows, flirting with the freezing mark in some cases early Thursday.  Minimum temps will range from 30° to 35°, except for the coast.  The cool high-pressure system will begin its departure tomorrow, producing southeast winds late and ushering in a warming trend that lasts for the rest of the week.  Highs will rise toward the 70° mark.  Over the weekend, upper-level high pressure will build, supporting the warm spell, and preventing another front from sliding all the way through for the time being.  Rain chances will increase starting late Saturday with the front’s approach, peaking late Sunday through Monday.
