Storm Team Wednesday evening forecast (01/09/2013)

Posted

Unseasonably warm and humid conditions continue to creep our way, along with areas of cloudiness and a few light showers.  A weak warm front is sliding south to north over the region, which is helping to draw in additional tropical air from the southern latitudes.  A high-pressure system aloft will work to keep the warmth in place, and a mainly southerly wind flow will allow additional Gulf moisture to flow into the area.  The high will also prevent any cool air and major storms from reaching the Big Bend and southern Georgia through the rest of this week.  Lows tonight will only fall to around 60 degrees with fog developing, and highs will reach the middle 70s with scattered cloudiness and a chance for a stray shower.
