Gloomy weather will stay in place for most of the next 24 hours. We are still dealing with a complex pattern, with a low-pressure disturbance in the upper atmosphere over the Gulf of Mexico, abundant moisture, and areas of showers, rain, and thunderstorms rotating around the eastern Gulf. While not necessarily intense, the areas of showers may become more persistent across the Big Bend even late tonight through a chunk of Thursday, with some possible spread northward. Coverage of rain will reach or even exceed 60% Thursday with the presence of the low, and further support from a second low pressure system later this week will stretch rain opportunities into the weekend. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 60s, and highs will be suppressed Thursday in the middle 70s.
