A new source of dryness is flowing upon the region on north and northwesterly winds. Some thin upper-level clouds will linger through the evening, but most areas will transition to a clear sky overnight. With colder high pressure sinking over the Southeast, morning minimum temperatures will fall into the 30s and lower 40s, quite a bit below average. Highs recover with ample sun Wednesday, but only to the 60s. A reinforcing dose of dry and cold air will arrive later Wednesday, which may push low temperatures for Thursday and Friday closer to freezing again. A sharp warm-up will begin Friday afternoon, with sunshine on all afternoons through the weekend.
