Temperatures have struggled to rise above freezing today, after starting the morning around 20°, even at the coast. Another round of sub-freezing temperatures is expected later tonight. Winds will relax a bit, so it won’t feel quite as bitterly cold as it did this morning, but even the slightest breeze can cause the air to feel several degrees cooler than it really is. Either way, lows in the 20s will be common areawide again Wednesday morning, with readings only a bit warmer right on the beaches. The Arctic grasp releases a bit tomorrow, with winds becoming northeasterly and highs rising into the 50s, still about 10 degrees below average. The rebound stretches into the rest of the week, but additional clouds will form and isolated showers chances may develop by Thursday.
